Bridging the Healthcare Gap Through Human Connection
Pulse and Presence is a student-led initiative at Brown University that bridges the gap between medical education and community-based preventive care. We believe that true health advocacy requires both the 'pulse' of monitoring health indicators and the 'presence' of genuine empathy. We collaborate with local Providence partners to provide accessible health screenings and health literacy workshops to ensure that healthcare extends to everyone in our community.

SpO2 & Pulse Monitoring
We conduct non-invasive blood oxygen and pulse screenings to identify respiratory and circulatory risks.

Vision Screenings
We perform basic visual acuity checks to detect vision impairments and direct towards professional optometric care.

Blood Glucose Screening
We provide rapid glucose tests to provide information regarding potential diabetic or other metabolic concerns.
*Trained student volunteers provide health indicators to direct community members to further care
